Ms. Pamela Anderson, Program Director of Edwin’s Place,  and her team recently celebrated the opening of their gym, Elite Fitness Center, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Residents, staff and invited guests, including Debbie Modeste Program Specialist from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), were given a tour of the new gym facility, and provided with demonstrations of the shiny, new equipment. Wayne Fizzuoglio, Director of Commercial Sales at Siegel Performance Systems (SPS), the provider of the fitness equipment, was on hand throughout the event to provide guidance on correct and safe use of the machines.

A delicious, healthy spread was provided by Ella Spice Catering, and guests were entertained by DJ Kezley Martin.

Edwin’s Place provides 126 apartments for homeless and low-income individuals, veterans, and families in Brooklyn’s Brownsville neighborhood. AAPCI provides onsite social services and understands the importance of a holistic approach to the wellbeing of our residents. The fitness center forms an important part of this, and the team looks forward to welcoming all of the adult residents as they start their wellness journey.
