Volunteers & Interns

Volunteer Opportunities

Learn about AAPCI’s approach to community development by donating your time and skills. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities for ongoing programs, special projects, and specific events.

To volunteer your time, applicants should submit a cover letter indicating why they wish to volunteer their time at AAPCI and their desired area of focus.

Internship Opportunities

Each division at AAPCI offers opportunities to become involved with everyday activities at the Commission as well as a chance to work in a professional, nonprofit organization. We have internship opportunities for full-time international students and full-time graduate and undergraduate college students with majors in sociology, community development, non-profit management and those studying in the field of direct client services, counseling, early childhood education, or social work. We welcome your expertise and creativity!

Please Note: AAPCI does not sponsor or assist international students obtain immigration documents, student visas or work permits. Visit our Volunteer and Internship resource directory. Some of the organizations listed in the directory may be of service to you, otherwise, contact your school’s foreign student advisor for assistance.

All internship positions at AAPCI are unpaid. Full or part-time positions are available throughout the year on an as-needed basis. There are no application deadlines and resumes are accepted throughout the year. Resumes are kept on file for six months and considered each time a position becomes available.

Internship opportunities are flexible to accommodate students’ schedules, allowing students to gain valuable experience in their respective fields of study as they work with skilled and knowledgeable AAPCI staff members. Staff members can share knowledge, career advice, workplace mentoring and specifically tailored assignments to match the student’s desire to learn and gain valuable experience while meeting the Commission’s mission.

To apply for an internship position with our organization, candidates should submit a resume and cover letter indicating their field of study, desired internship area of focus, internship period desired (fall, summer, spring, winter, full-time, part-time), writing sample and an unofficial student transcript to:
