Homeless Shelter Initiatives

Single Adult Shelters in Commercial Hotels:

Under contract with the NYC Department of Homeless Services (“DHS”), AAPCI provides Emergency Shelter and Social Support Services in leased Commercial Hotels to homeless, low-income, working single adults, Citywide. Our commercial hotel premises are kept immaculately clean by hotel management staff. The program is staffed by trained and credentialed Social Workers, Case Managers, Housing/Entitlement Specialists, and Employment Specialists. Support staff include Shift Supervisors, Residential Aides and contracted Security personnel. Our commercial hotel program is geared toward homeless working individuals who may need some assistance in overcoming barriers to permanent housing and/or job retention. Emergency Shelter for Single Adults

Under contract with the NYC Department of Homeless Services (“DHS”), AAPCI provides Emergency Shelter and Social Support Services to homeless, single adults in a stand-alone shelter in New York City. The program is staffed by trained and credentialed Social Workers, Case Managers, Housing/Entitlement Specialists, and Employment Specialists. Support staff include Shift Supervisors, Residential Aides and contracted Security personnel. Our shelter targets those recently arrived asylum seekers who were bused into NYC from other states such as Texas and Florida. Services are tailored for single, homeless men, many who need assistance with overcoming barriers to communication due to their lack of English communication skills, barriers to finding affording housing, barriers to finding gainful employment and assistance with their immigration status. The program operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
