In Memoriam

The African American Planning Commission (AAPCI) Inc. is committed to developing Edwin's Place. To accomplish this, we are soliciting funds from City, State and Federal government agencies to help fund all initial capital development costs associated with project development. We are relying entirely on individuals like YOU, on foundations, and on corporations to help us fund program implementation and for ongoing operational support. We ask for your generous financial support to help sustain Edwin's Place. Edwin's Place represents AAPCI's efforts to develop permanent, supportive housing for formerly homeless single adults, elderly couples, and families living with HIV/AIDS, with dependent children.

AAPCI needs your help to make Edwin’s Place a reality. While AAPCI seeks capital development funding through government grants and corporate funding to cover initial exploratory and capital development efforts, we have to rely entirely on individuals and foundations to fund program implementation and for ongoing operational support.

Purchase a brick with your personalized inscription and help develop Edwin’s Place
AAPCI would like to offer donors the opportunity to support the development of Edwin’s Place and at the same time receive tangible recognition for their generosity. For donations of $150 or more, you can leave a lasting impression by purchasing a personalized brick, which will be installed in the facility’s entry pathway. You may choose to have your name engraved in the brick, have it inscribed in memory of a loved one or relative or use it as an opportunity to leave a personalized message.  Most importantly, your gift provides you with the opportunity to leave a lasting impression at Edwin’s Place.

Two brick sizes are available
For a gift of $150, a 4” x 8” engraved brick will be installed in the facility’s entry pathway with your personalized message. Each 4” x 8” brick can be engraved with up to three lines of lettering with a maximum of 13 characters per line, including spaces and punctuation.
Those who wish to make a more significant contribution may contribute and purchase a $300 brick. For this generous donation, an 8” x 8” engraved brick will be installed in the facility’s entry pathway with your personalized message. Each 8” x 8” brick can be engraved with up to five lines of lettering with a maximum of 20 characters per line, including spaces and punctuation.

Get one as a memento to keep for yourself or to give as a gift
You can purchase a duplicate brick at half price to keep as a special memento for your home or office or to give as a gift to a friend or relative. These bricks will be part of the facility for generations to come.

Brick inscriptions are subject to approval by the African American Planning Commission.

Even if you don't know anyone who passed away from AIDS-related complications, but still wish to make a donation to show your support for those living with the disease, please do so by making an online donation (in any amount you wish - $10 minimum donation suggested) or by mailing your donation to our corporate address.
